Does anything I say ever make any sense? Whenever I participate in these conversations I feel like people are just looking for reasons to argue with me. I feel like I'm doing a terrible job of explaining something that isn't my point of view, but it a point of view I can understand. It seems like nobody else can understand this point of view and it just baffles me.

I understand it. If I were Indian my reaction to the Simpsons would be, "You're making fun of me." Making fun of me. I would refuse to watch the show. Watching any scene with Apu in it would make me feel bad inside. Like my very essence was deemed ridiculous by the society in which I lived.
