Putting aside the fact that I personally am not that sure that she has it in her to kill him, shouldn't there be major Lannister forces at Casterly Rock or someplace else outside Landing? Even if her spies eventually informed her, Jaime and his men would be long gone, since they'd need to get going right away to make it in time. Even if he were close enough, from the moment he gets them to agree, he's basically the commander of a force that opposes Cersei's wishes, so not like she could have the Mountain just go in there unchallenged and kill him.

Moreover, what do you think would happen if he did actually convince people of the danger and then got assassinated? The officers on his side would have double incentive to mutiny and march north then, as both Cersei's wrath and the future of mankind should the North... em, go south... would be on their minds. Plus, if Jaime dies, shouldn't they have the excuse that the Lannister at Winterfell is technically their next commander \:\- ?

The Unsullied hold Casterly Rock, no Lannister troops there.

In addition, I can't see Lannister deying the Crown, particularly as she is also of thier House as well.
