I'm marking spoilers because my speculation is highly probable to include spoilers.

Speculation, even if it ends up being true, is not a spoiler. A spoiler is something you know or have heard and believe to be true, which will then be believed to be true by those who read it, covering every other possibility in their minds.

No, because there's no dramatic tension with an unbeatable antagonist.

There'd still be dramatic tension in how they would opt to deal with their oncoming doom, but anyway....

The North kills off all of the Night King's lieutenants (and so most of the undead army), but the Night King and his dragon escape and go to King's (Queen's?) Landing to kill more people and regenerate his army. If the North is defeated in the prior option, then the Night King's entire army still has to be dealt with, which would involve another massive battle. I don't see two massive army of the dead battles in 6 episodes.

It's kinda interesting that, weren't he such a machine-like entity, the NK could actually be waging war simultaneously on all the living, in every continent! Just fly around, kill some folk, make a new army, allocate some Walkers there, point in a direction, watch their numbers grow and destroy everything in their path!

But I will just say that there is a vague spoiler about King's Landing (why would it be "Queen's", it's named after the first Aegon, damn ye mrpo !) that may or may not imply that the Night King does appear there. Nothing definitive, which is why I'm casually blurting it like this, but it's one of the three interpretations I can give to the spoiler...
