In the books, LS doesn't have much more personality than a White Walker. I really don't think Martin knew what he was going to do with her. Yes it was heartbreaking to see her hang Pod and Brienne, but that goes back to my point about how he keeps making us switch sides with his POV chapters.

One things fan never like to talk about...I don't think the writers on the show really know what's going to happen.

Like they know how the saga will end and how some of the characters fates will be resolved by Martin but I don't think they know how they get from point A to point Z. Because Martin doesn't quite know yet (he still hasn't finished book 6 much less book 7).

Which is why I thought season 4 was spinning it's wheels. I think the writers are getting to the point in the narrative that Martin hasn't mapped out yet. They might know who ends up ruling the 7 kingdoms in the end but they don't know the character beats that get all of the characters to that conclusion.

Although I STILL don't like Cersi.

I think the actress has some of the best material on the show and I love her observations...but god she is a unlikeable character. My favorite moment of season 1 was when Robert smacked her which makes me a horrible person.

The ONLY time I liked Cersi was in a scene that wasn't even in the books. Robert and Cersi were reminiscing on their years of rule, and Cersi joked (although the joke was the truth*) that their marriage is what held the seven kingdoms united. It was the only time I saw some playfulness in Cersi. Even in her sex scenes she seems cold and joyless.

*Actually it was the Baratheon/Lannister/Stark alliance that held it all together.

And a lean, silent figure slowly fades into the gathering darkness, aware at last that in this world, with great power there must also come -- great responsibility!
