I didn't start this petition and I sense it will fail.

Partially because Lucas seems to have lost his desire.

Lucas really is not a good director. He hasn't really done it well in forever. The Prequels were his last attempt, and look what we got. Writer? Yes. Producer? Sure. But directing really isn't his thing. This should not be what any fan wants.
