It sounds like an awful idea. I don't like the idea of these spinoff movies (I hear 3 are planned).

Avengers vs Predator 1 and 2 and Prometheus weren't good for the Alien franchise. The Wolverine spinoff movies from the X-Men movie franchise sucked. I never saw Puss In Boots, Elektra or the Scorpion King but I didn't want to either.

Don't dilute the brand.

TEHO, but I liked the Wolverine movies!

Anyway, very true, it *could* go badly. OR it could go gangbusters like it is for the Marvel Universe.

I'm anticipating the latter.
