Just watched this again two days ago. It still holds up.

It still amazes me that the "pod reaching the Enterprise" and "Enterprise launch from space dock" use the same footage as The Motion Picture, but come off as infinitely more dramatic.

Its amazing what a bit of editing and a music change can do!
