Well, he was denied in the past. Wise's Director's Cut of TMP came out in 2001 and the Special Edition DVD of Star Trek V came out in 2003. That's when Shatner noted that he was denied the restoration and completion funds that Wise got.

But now it's almost 20 years later and apparently they are sinking more money into redoing all the effects for TMP for 4K. Will Shat get his turn this time? Will Meyer recut II and VI yet again?


Well for starters I just don't see the need for 4K......brighter phasers, torpedoes and warp drive and space scenes.......big deal.

I really do not need to be able to see so clearly that I can count the skin pores on an actor's face.


As to 2 and 6......they don't need a new cut. imo.
