AS I recall Shatner did talk to paramount about getting funds to revise and complete Star Trek 5 but it was denied.

Well, he was denied in the past. Wise's Director's Cut of TMP came out in 2001 and the Special Edition DVD of Star Trek V came out in 2003. That's when Shatner noted that he was denied the restoration and completion funds that Wise got.

But now it's almost 20 years later and apparently they are sinking more money into redoing all the effects for TMP for 4K. Will Shat get his turn this time? Will Meyer recut II and VI yet again?
