I'm shocked at the level of dislike and snide snarking about Star Trek Discovery on here. The fact is that some changes do not sit right such as the completely different and continuity stuffed Klingons. But that does not mean this is bad Star Trek. Indeed compared to most of TNG this is excellent Star Trek and much more emotional and credible Star Trek than Enterprise or DS9. But I guess people just like to try to show off by kicking and spitting.

To be fair to Dragon Red he's given the show mixed reviews. So he's watching it and commenting on what he likes and doesn't like. I think that's all we can ask of people. Like and dislike the show for what it is instead of liking it because it's a part of the franchise or disliking it because of being a Star Trek purist.

I haven't agreed with all of his points but he's been fair IMO.

Not exactly the kind of Universe Roddenberry was suggesting.

The only thing in this show to date that has struck me as totally wrong was the cowboy court martial with all the officers in Shadow. That was more worthy of a Klingon trial than anything Cogley would be representing at. Indeed I hope Cogley takes Michael's case at some point.
