The opening scene was cool, establishing key traits about Burnham and Georgiou, namely that Burnham is arrogant and Georgiou is brilliant.

Tell us what you think of episode 3 when you get to it. The show doesn't really start IMO until episode 3.

Wow, Burnham is even more arrogant than I thought. I mean, from the point of view of an omniscient viewer, there was no right answer to the situation. The Klingons wanted war, and would have started it whether they went with Burnham's plan, Georgiou's plan, or just started riverdancing and juggling ice-cream cones.

But from the perspective of the information they had available? Georgiou's plan was massively wiser and more ethical. You don't just start shooting at a much bigger ship because of 240 year old information. It's not ethical, it's not reasonable, it's not wise, it's not anything. It's just nuts. And to attack someone who is not only your superior officer, but one of the most decorated captains in Starfleet is just...WTF??

Since there was no truly correct answer to the situation, it was essentially a real life kobayashi maru, a physically hopeless situation that is really a test of the character of the person tested. And she failed horribly.
