Do you think Arnold is still at the right age for King Conan? Does Conan as King still fight battles or is he just a strategist?

Oh, he fought all right.

In the novel 'Conan the Avenger' a sorcerer abducts his queen, and he heads out alone to get her back.

There's a handful of other stories set while he's king of Aquilonia, culminating in 'Conan of the Isles'. This is his final recorded adventure, at the end of which he decides not to return to Aquilonia, turns the crown over to his son and sails off into the western ocean with a handful of his soldiers in search of adventure in a rumoured land in the west.

He's in his sixties when 'Conan of the Isles' occurs. But he's still a warrior, leading from the front.
