I thought MCU was doing something with Spidey, ...a character arc, going somewhere, ...and hoping for a 3rd movie, Beginning, Middle and End. With the deal gone (Hopefully in the following year, something will happen), ...

I can only think of one Precedent, Superman Returns. Remember that movie? Big, Epic, ...and very forgettable and dull. 'Everyone loved that 78 movie', so they made that 78 movie, with 2003 tech, thinking and colors, ...with Routh and Spacek channeling Reeves and Hackman. What can go WRONG? How can this be bad? This is what the PUBLIC wants.

So, Sony's Spidey MCU-like Returns, ...with 'Everyone loved those Home movies', Sony will make 'what they think MCU would do to Spidey3', with Holland and badguy channeling MCU Parker and MCU badguy, ...

I guess we're back to THIRD MOVIE SUCKS curse, Jedi, Last Crusade, Sup****an 3, Alien 3, the 3 90s Batman movies, the 3 SW prequels, Dieh**d 3, Lethal We***on 3, ...

Last Crusade did not suck at all. Alien 3 was not horrible, but suffered from following a bigger movie. I am not sure of a movie offhand that does well following up a sequel that expands the mythos to contracting things.

The SM sucks though. Great hook at the end of Far from Home and good build. Sort of for nothing at this point. I am also hoping that everybody comes to their senses and they make a movie to close things out.

It is Sony's big box office property. So it was always going to be hard for Marvel, with the success. Things being split 95%/5% makes it a bad situation for Marvel. Sony is not going to want to come down from that number.

I heard there were other reasons, but I do not remember them exactly. Like a producer credit and whatever. I do not think Sony is going to be able to pull anything off on their own though.
