It's a GOOD GOOD MOVIE! Super-Great, must-see level, ...depends. Better than those ...not now, polarizing, etc. But up there with WW and Aq.

I predicted where it was going, what the climax was going to be, ...but I liked the action, the Actors, the humor, moved by Batson's journey to find his mother, and the storyline, by far radically different than Superman, which Shazam should be (I think the General Audience thinks Shazam is a poor-man's version of Supe).

Hopefully, WB will greenlight a sequel and that should be called Shazam family, ...hail to those 60s and 70s DC comics, Superman family, Batman family (Maybe we'll get a 'Dollar movie'). This is the set-up, so the next movie should deal with Mary, Freddy, Darla, etc.

So, go see it, relax and enjoy it.

Overall a good movie. A good adaptation of a hero that was designed specifically for the kids and a hero that was meant to be light hearted and fun.

Dr Sivanna....yeah a times he felt like a one note version of Dr Strange.....but again, I wasn't expecting Oscar Award winning performances either. Also that scene of him in the sky doing the super villain rant/brag about what he would do, etc. was a funny way to show that SHAZAM! does not have super hearing or other super senses.

Zach was great as SHAZAM! you could tell he was having a lot of fun in the role.

As to a sequel, yeah I can see one being made but a CBR article does point out one critical reason why a sequel needs to happen fast....the kid actors will start growing up and likely fast. So its either replace them or CGI de-age them to keep this going after a few too many years. However that being said, a SHAZAM movie where Billy is age 18-21 may be good too. Billy is now a young adult, perhaps a bit cynical or frustrated with life and has to learn to be the hero again.

The mid credits scene easily sets up the sequel and the post credits scene was funny.
