Why on earth would they let this accused child molester be associated with the movie in the first place?

I mean couldn't they you know...empower a female director and let one cover this female empowerment character? Or at least a male director who hasn't been accused of sleeping with minors multiple times.

I hope the movie gets made without Singer because I really like Red Sonja.

Agreed. But movies take a long time to get green-lit, produced, and shot, so Singer could have been working on it many years ago before the allegations came out.

While the film itself has been in developmental hell for about a decade, Singer's involvement only goes back a few months ( Even if you ignore the accusations against him, he was fired from Bohemian Rhapsody for not showing up to set. He may have a proven track record, but I would think any studio would be reluctant give a big budget movie to someone who was fired from his last directing job. I hope he gets put in movie jail permanently.
