Are they sure there's enough people remember that motley crew trying to climb up a carnival slide???

Remember that 3 Stooges movie a few years ago (A second one is in talks somewhere), only made about 40 something millions, and not a world success. Even that biopic on Laurel and Hardy last December was quickly forgotten.

I don't see a success in movies of very old Saturday morning cartoon (Fingers crossed for Shazam).

I don't think remembering is the problem. They're iconic enough that multiple generations know of them. There was even a short-lived revival about 10 years ago on CN.

With the Three Stooges, I can understand why it failed. Moe, Larry, and Curly were the Howards/Fine. No one can ever be them, not even in imitation. Plus, they're too fondly remembered. No one should ever try to be Mr. Bean, either.

As for the Laurel & Hardy biopic... it's a biopic. I'm sure it's remembered, but so what.

I just don't think I'll ever be in the mood to see a horror version of them. I was really hoping the Happytime Murders was going to be good, but I'm glad that wasn't with bonafide Muppets. I hope to never see an axe-wielding Gonzo.
