I love scary movies, good ones and bad ones. But it's hard to pick a favorite, or a scariest.

Contenders are Jaws, Psycho, The Exorcist, Rosemary's Baby.

I might have to list Psycho as my personal scariest movie ever because, in my younger days, I tried watching it 3 times and had to shut it off every time. It wasn't until I was probably 13 or 14 that I watched it all the way through.

The Shining and The Ring are up there. The Ring was wonderfully creepy, both the Japanese and US versions. Repulsion is a creepy one that disturbed me as a kid. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre scared me silly. Silence Of The Lambs. The Sixth Sense had some real chills, but, unfortunately, it's never as effective as the first time you see it.

Going into horror movies with no clue to the ending is great. As mentioned, The Sixth Sense, Psycho, and The Ring were some of the best for me. Sleepaway Camp was great in this respect.
I would throw the ending to Carrie in there. Sleepaway Camp was a disturbing scene.
