So, is Gatwa playing an alternate Ninth or Tenth Doctor?

Interesting thought! It actually makes sense Ncuti is playing an alternate Doctor - Chris Chibnall set up the Jo Martin-Doctor as a mysterious incarnation, and I have always suspected that he likely won't address this at all in his final episode, so it might be Davies will build on it a little and be introducing these strange doppleganger versions of familiar faces.

Is Tennant playing the Half-human Doctor who went off with Rose? Or is he something else, a cross-time version of the character travelling with this other Rose Tyler variant?

As we both know Russell Davies is very very adept at marketing, he knows how to pique the audience and build up anticipation, get the internet and media talking. And I think the last several days have seen more excitement and promotion being generated than perhaps the entire five years of Chris Chibnall's reign. So as you hint at - have we actually seen the real Doctor announced? Or is there an ace up Davies' sleeve where we are going to presented with a far bigger name in the role than Ncuti?!!

That makes some sense to me. It's all becoming very exciting! \(yes\)

I've been reading more about the news and what's amazing is just what an age we live in - David Tennant and Catherine Tate are out filming and we have near instant feed from social media - pictures, even a little film. It's so incredible to think on, when you go back to the original series the only 'news' a fan had about filming was maybe a report in DWM or Celestial Toyroom weeks after the fact. Now... everyone has a camera/phone, and the internet as a live feed. Instant broadcast.

I love the excitement and enthusiasm Davies is generating, just a two or three teaser statements and he has set the internet alight with fans and media beginning to interact and speculate. More interestingly though he again (deliberately?) pushes the Chibnall/Whittaker era soundly to one side and has essentially made their final episode utterly redundant. Nobody cares, nobody is interested in that, it is Russell Davies and David Tennant and what it all might mean that is the only conversation in town...

Davies' return has (predicably) shown up everything that was wrong with Chris Chibnall's management of the series. The utter lack of conviction, self-confidence, and any genuine passion for Doctor Who.

I'm increasingly loving Davies' second coming. There's a real buzz again in Doctor Who. The divisions might be beginning to fadeer)
