Quote: Is Davies going to use an older Tennant and Tate to trigger some pseudo-rebooting of the timeline...? Allowing for a reset of sorts that frees him from the shows now ponderous and tainted baggage.
That's very possible.
Back in 2005 RTD didn't bring back Doctor Who. He gave us something different. He gave us *his vision* of the show. He kept what he liked, threw out what he didn't, and altered things he felt could be made to work if he tweaked them.
Now, 17 years later, the show is so far removed from the original, it's history and legacy so deeply revised and rewritten - and indeed the landscape of television itself so changed - that no doubt RTD will feel that he can twist the show even further into a shape he's happy with.
I think we're about to find out just what that shape is.

If they want to soft reboot things and remove the Doc 13 era and pick up after 12 regenerates, that's fine with me.
