Quote:Yes winning the fans back will be a problem .
Quote:However, imo, changing the Doc to a female was just for SJW, despite regeneraton being random
I dislike the term honestly, but I agree it led to a divided fanbase and how they treated the process led to losing a bunch of folks out of the gate.
I think it could have been done well, but it was not. It very much was set up along the lines of we can do this so it means that we should.
I still was on the train that with the Time Lords back you have a Time Lady come in and take up the mantle for a season or two while the Doctor goes missing. Avoided those problems and gives you a female lead, the original can be brought back and any time and so on.
Probably still pisses a fair number off, but not as dividing.
Quote:I've suggested ideas to make it sabotage by the Master or Dark Guardian or Rassilon as part of a long plan to destroy the Doctor but who knows?
I mean there are many ways to do things.
Quote:Revert the Doctor back to male, bring Tennant back for a new season but change it so that he has the face of Doc 10, but the personality is different. That should excite some fans
That would be interesting but I am not sure he would have interest. He loved the role and I think loves coming back for the anniversaries but to be frank the show needs him more than he needs it at this point.
And I am not even sure that would be enough, but it would probably be at least a foot in the door situation to at least make some give the show a chance again which is what is needed I guess.
Well Tennant has been coy about whether he is returning.
True the show needs him or Smith more then they need the show, but for the right price and for fun either or both could return.
Better yet, have either return and play the new form of The Master.
Old allies will think the Doctor is visiting from the past prior to regeneration or else that he reverted back to the previous form only to be surprised to see the Doctor being evil.
The current Doctor will have to stop him and fix his reputation for awhile.
