If the show continues, I think we'll definitely see more male Doctors.
I don't think the next Doctor will be male, though.
1) The BBC are absolutely committed to their diversity policy. They'd rather see diverse casting than another straight, white male with a Home Counties accent.
2) The Jodie haters would be out in force, shouting about how a female Doctor didn't work and should never happen again.
3) The Jodie lovers would be out in force, berating the BBC for taking a backwards step in their casting.
All of that would be negative publicity for the BBC, and I think they'd want to avoid that. Now, RTD might surprise us all, but given his recent comments on his future with the show, I doubt it.

Love the rumour that they might be talking david tennett into returning as next Dr, for a series of specials with Rose, before passing on the Torch!
Would love to see them do a mini series involving rose and her human Dr, as final send off to both of them!
