Quote:I have the feeling that if Barrowman has already filmed his scenes for Series 13, and if they're so integral to the episode they can't be removed without major rewrites and remounts, the BBC will probably take the decision to scrap the episodes completely.
If he really is in this series then I imagine there will be meetings... it's hard to predict, the reality is if he is in at least one episode then that is going to be hard to get around at this stage of the process. Rumour has it this series is behind schedule and over-budget, and given the slow filming rate of last season this rumour sounds very plausible.
What a mess. I see some are defending him, arguing it is old news and no one complained at the time so that's alright... but the reality is he shouldn't have done it. It was a time-bomb waiting to go off, and go off it has, along with Noel Clarke's antics.
The BBC are left with a double-problem of how to respond to this, and given the 2005-2009 era was such an enormous family-audience hit that still resonates they are left with the dilemma of how to deal with this taint to that success and what it means for Doctor Who today.
With this news of Barrowman being removed from 'Immersive Everywhere' tipping the scales on the press reaction and negative publicity it sets the precedent, and the domino's start falling where Barrowman's ties to Doctor Who are concerned.
[My real interest is in whether Big Finish follow suit in removing any further ties to him, and amaze me in doing so...]
Just seems to be the time to put the Dr series down, and give it a well deserved RIP, and just go back to viewing the Dr back when was still good!
