easy fix here, just have david tennett reprise his role as the dr, but as the human clone version 10.5!

Because David Tennant is never coming back to the show on a regular basis.

You must remember that despite being a fan, Tennant is a jobbing actor with a career and a family to think about over and above any tv show. Just off the top of my head I can think of a few very good reasons why coming back would be a very bad move.

1) Actors like to take many different roles in their careers.

2) Going back for x number of years means he couldn't take anything good that came up in that time.

3) He knows his time as the Doctor is very highly regarded. He also knows that things on the show have changed dramatically. It has nowhere near the budget it had. It's lost it's audience. It's controversial. Even if he played the Doctor exactly the same, the show is different. Three more years in this environment might tarnish everything he achieved.

4) Chris Chibnall probably has two series or more left on his contract. Given the hash he's made of the last two years, Tennant would be crazy to walk into that.

That's just off the top of my head. I dare say Tennant could think of - and probably has thought of - a few more.

Tennant (Or Smith, Capaldi or Eccleston) would have to be insane to want to come back to the show in the current climate.
