and he really avoided the issue for quite a long time. I think he said BBC blacklisted him for a while so he had to take some questionable roles like GI Joe and Thor Dark World (the later is not as bad but the role was very meh).
I often wonder what it would have been like if he had more time on the series, as I very much liked his Doctor and he set the tone that 10 would take up and push onward. But at the same time if it had happened differently would Tennant have been on the show? Who knows?
The toxic environment is unfortunate from the article though, as the ones after him seemed to very much enjoy themselves with it all. Too bad about all of it because 9 is overlooked alot.
I honestly always envisioned him in the Time War, but he seemed to have a new face, as he commented on it while looking in the mirror in the Rose episode. But that was always my view before the War Doctor. That it was him and the 8th Doctor at some ratio that fought in the Time War and the 9th Doctor pushed the button.
He always struck me as Timothy dalton did as Bond, almost "american", like all rough and though and gruff!
