She, and some of the newer members, are sort of like Tea Party members of the GOP as far as I can tell. There is not really a firm movement behind them but it is similar sort of zeal with some issues that seem to be overblown.

I think a good analogy can be made of between the Tea Party and the Justice Democrats. Of course, it's more like a bizarro mirror image -- because the Tea Party was a bogus movement that was almost immediately co-opted by guys like the Koch Bros. It's funny that Republicans became small government libertarians the second Obama took office. What a complete sham.

That said, under the Tea Party movement, Republicans gained 1000 seats, took control of the House and Senate, got two SCOTUS appointments and won the presidency.

Sure, but I am pointing it out as sort of the point that hyper-partisanship started. Seemed like the nuts really started to take over thing, that were only in the shadows before. And usually under false pretenses of things they always wanted anyway.

The GOP got more people to vote and got them motivated in 2010 (rage over the ACA at the time more than anything). Turned out to be the perfect timing. They took control of state governments, controlled redistricting and so on that helps in other areas too.

It would be really hard at this point to get political balance out of much of anything at this point. Whatever that would look like anymore. I think there were/are a number of states that are so slanted that even if one party wins over half of the votes in the state they will control only two or so seats in a legislative house.

Even with population concentrations that is staggering.

Look Raist bunnies...
