The GOP never virtue signals or has anything to do with special interest groups? And never panders to outside groups based on things like their faith or obsession with guns or similar things?

Heck, virtual signaling alone is a core part of constituency with some in the religious right.

Just saying, hardly unique.

Identity politics are not unique on the left either. The tribalism that drives it very much exists on the right, even if the labeling is different.

Heck, Trump did a bang up job of tapping the anxieties of white voters. You can label that differently if you want but to some degree it was taping a fear of change around them they did not like by grouping his target audience into a group. That is to say nothing about identity based on religion etc.

I have no doubt you will disagree, but it is still identity politics, even if the percentages are not the same as AA's voting for the Democratic candidate.

Sure...but its not the ONLY thing the Right talks about. The Right is not the same as the religious right just as the left is not the same as progressive hatred of religion left.

The Left have been fear mongering and tapping into the anxieties for women, minorities, LGBT+, illegal immigrants etc...

I wont defend trump....he is pretty indefensible. I just wont coddle the left and let them get away with their garbage either.

The Right do this as well...but they don't have a constant stream of media flow cramming down everyone's throats that whitey and his "anxieties" is the problem.
