Quote:Look, lets be honest Trump isn't the sharpest spade in the shed.
Quote:However, with this, he may well have convinced enough people that Brexit is a bad thing.
Quote:On the whole I would say the NHS is the most loved instituion in the UK. Above the armed forces, above the monarchy.
Quote:The NHS was created out of the ideal that good healthcare should be available to all, regardless of wealth. It has provided free healthcare and healed untold numbers of people.
Quote:It is one of the largest employes in the world and directly employs 1.5 million british voters. It's the 5th biggest employer in the world. By stealth, bits have gone into private sector hands, but Trump has made the cardinal sin of announcing it would be on the trade table talks. Explicitly.
Quote:The left is going to rally like never before. Even die hard Brexiters on my facebook page are clearly having second thoughts.
Quote:Trump has dropped the ball big time on this one. And for once, he's done the left a HUGE favor.
I disagree. I noticed the media were all over this specifically loaded question in the Trump/May Q&A and its been blown out of all proportion by the usual (left wing mainstream media*) suspects. Standard Project Fear tactics.
*Basically just the mainstream media in the UK since its ALL left leaning here.
The real story is that the LEFT already privatised SOME parts of the NHS (health service for those outside the UK) about 10-20 years ago but at every opportunity the LEFT will bring up that the Conservatives are looking to Privatise the Health Service (which simply isn't the case).
Any party operating on a Privatise the NHS mandate would be on a hiding at the elections so there is no way any party would ever adopt such a policy. Labour got away with their Privatisation of tiny parts of the health service at a time when they had a MASSIVE majority in Parliament (around 15 years ago or so). No Party will ever have such a majority ever again.
The Left at this point are simply running a negative campaign to derail Brexit.
Look to the first question on BBC Question Time this Thursday night to be from a typical (planted) Remainer crying about how Orange Man Bad wants to privatise our beloved National Health Service.
The reality is that no British government would EVER get away with Privatising the Health Service and NONE of the Parties are stupid enough to even hint that it might be a possibility...because it NEVER will.
Watching the news last night was like watching a brain-washing exercise.
On each of the main news outlets, they each asked protestors why they are protesting Trump's visit. Without exception, the responses were all just name calling "racist, sexist, homophobic, misogynist" etc.
None of the interviewers I watched challenged the interviewed on how they formed these conclusions. Indeed, some of the segments started with the "interviewer" calling Trump the usual names and then asking a protestor who just repeated what the interviewer just said.
It has been a shit show of leftie bias.
The NHS headline was a lame stitch-up and news outlet ran with it, even when they had footage from the Piers Morgan interview in which he clarifies his position that the NHS isn't on the agenda.
We need impartial news media in the UK that doesn't brainwash the sheep mob with their bias views.
