BK Ray sounds like you're a Brit so I'm not sure how much help I'll be for you on this side of the Pond. My undergrad was in Accounting and I have a Master's in Taxation, which I use pretty much everyday because taxes are my daily work.

When I was working on my Master's if memory serves it was a total of 12 classes. I took the first 11 classes in person at night and was sailing along, but then I moved to a new town and had to finish up by taking the last class via the internet. I still remember the class - Taxation of Partnerships.

The last class was just awful, it was a difficult subject and I found internet communication too "clunky" for it. For Example if a long calculation was being worked on a Partner's Outside Basis, in person I could just raise my hand and point at the white board and ask "How did you get that number?". Via internet I had to type out the whole problem and discuss in length where I was lost. It was a painfully tedious procedure and I HATED it.

So my advice is simple, for these kinds of difficult, fact intensive classes, take them in person if at all possible.
