I think my problem is the idea of someone knowing that they would be happier if they had that much money. To me it's no different than someone claiming they know they would do something during a mass shooting. Do people believe they would be happier with that much money? Of course. However, no one really knows how they will react in a situation until they are actually in the situation.

Plus, how we determining happiness? I mean, yes, if people woke up tomorrow with $200 billion they didn't have today, they are probably going to be instantly happier. Is that happiness going to last? How are they going to feel 5, 10, 15 years down the line? zvelf makes a good point that once you get used to it, it won't feel as special anymore. I would imagine your level of happiness post-money would eventually be the same as your level of happiness pre-money.

That's like saying you wont believe they arnt happy for not being IN a mass shooting. Cause ya don't know. This is comparing apples and oranges.

Though if you are focusing on KNOWING...then sure...it probably more LIKELY or the odds at happiness are IMPROOVED.

And that's what Rich people keep telling poor people...we aint happy. ;P
