    Quote:
Biden is a lousy candidate regardless of any of this. He's notorious for saying stupid things into microphones. No way in heck will he get through a presidential campaign without making a fool of himself. I don't know why he's even being considered. On camera he's a buffoon.

I don't want Biden as President, but I don't think any of that will disqualify.

Our current president said all kinds of crazy stuff on the campaign trail. HE was also accused of rape by his ex-wife.

The truth is, elections (at least for the time being) are not decided by policy (anyone voting that way already has their mind made up), or character, or ability to speak well (remember George W.?).

It is decided by force of personality. A charismatic individual will make people believe his policies.

Biden has a lot of flaws. I don't want him to be president. I would not vote for him in a primary (As a reg. independent I get to vote with party in my sate), but that doesn't matter.

HE is charismatic, and he has the common touch, and he doesn't talk like a typical politician, a lot of voters like that.

As far as democrats are specifically concerned... he isn't Trump.

Again, personally, I don't want him to run. I think the cancer moonshot was an amazing thing he did, and we should all be thankful as a country he organized that bipartisan deal.

However, he should take that win, let THAT be his legacy and move on.

But I don't think any of this is as damaging as people think, The rules are sadly very different now.

I wish I were wrong, because you really shouldn't touch someone who doesn't want to be touched. It should raise eyebrows in concern.

Saying dumb things SHOULD screw you up when running for office.

I just don't think it does anymore.

Politics has become a football game about beating the other side, not about finding the best policy. As long as that is the case, who knows?
