Subj: Explaining the new ruler of Westeros

Could Bran have used his powers to influence the people at the Dragon Pit? It seemed that all of them (other than Sansa) were blankly in favor of Bran. Even Grey Worm went from furiously angry to meekly accepting for no apparent reason. I could make a case that Bran robbed all those present of their free will in order to seize power. All of them except Sansa and Arya, anyway. Then when Sansa declared Northern Independence, Bran interceded again to keep the other six kingdoms under his control.

I know I'm stretching to make this make sense. I would love it if Bran was revealed to be a villain and the Night King was going to save Westeros from Bran's abuse of power. But I guess that didn't happen - not in this official canon, anyway.

And a lean, silent figure slowly fades into the gathering darkness, aware at last that in this world, with great power there must also come -- great responsibility!
