Re-make Season 8 of Game of Thrones!

https://www.change.org/p/hbo-remake-game-of-thrones-season-8-with-competent-writers

Where are you guys at with Season 8, so far? I think it's amazing to look at, but storywise it has jumped the shark.

Sadly, HBO wanted 3 more seasons, but the producers offered just 6 episodes. What a missed opportunity to make the long night longer than one night. \:\(

Visually entertaining, but the pacing has tarnished the substance. Everyone's arc was butchered, particularly Jaime's and Darnerys'.

Weiss and Benioff clearly wanted to move on to Star Wars, and one of the best shows ever suffered for it.

Totally agree with the above. It's not that the show is outright bad. It's still the most visually striking show on television. It's just falling toward average in season 8 whereas before it was the best show currently on tv.

It didn't need 3 more seasons, but it did need 10 episodes each in seasons 7 and 8.

Agreed. The fact that the "long night" only lasted one night was a bummer. With 10 episodes, it could have lasted 5 episodes and charted several months of winter.
It's a missed opportunity, I think.

I have only seen the first season of the show and I read the first book some time ago. So, I am not the target. I mean to start watching again at some point.

Edit: I fear for its total death. It's already in a bad way.

"James told me there's an old saying here on Earth: May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil knows you're dead.
Not sure if Turian heaven is the same as yours, but if this thing goes sideways and we both end up there, meet me at the bar."

Agreed. There's a diminishing return on the goodwill that people have for the original trilogy.
Of the new Star Wars films, the only one that had anything appealing for me was the battle at the end of Rogue One and that's because it had original trilogy ships which made me nostalgic.

I am hopeful that The Mandalorian brings something decent to the franchise. It looks pretty good from what I've seen so far, but if not, I'm content with the original trilogy and can happily ignore the new stuff.

Can they do worse? The Last Jedi was pretty rough in particular. I would accept almost any change from that mess.
