I know the answer to this, I think just need someone to agree. I moved out of my 1 bedroomed flat. My agent informs me she has 2 nice, mature gay tenants. This is not related to my earlier post. I do think a couple is too much for my flat. However my agent are saying that they have good references and whilst they are on benefits they have a guarantor. I need a guarantor to comply with my insurance. Unfortantly guarantor has pulled out. I said I was unwilling to go forward with the tenancy without the insurance. Agent said they were looking for a different guarantor but were re-advertising. Something bothered me with today's phonecall, so I gained access to the magistrates court records. There has been someone with the same name as Tenant A who has assaulted a female police officer. 12 months later, he beat a man semi conscious and did 5 months. He was released a week before the tenant with the same name applied for my tenancy. Tenant B, shares his name with someone who threatened to kill and assault a girl. Both tenants are around the same age as the people who have been in the Court. I have asked the agent to provide me with the references (rather than the agent's opinion that they are 'ok'). I suspect Tenant B's address is the reference and Tenant A will not have a reference for 5 months. I also suspect I will be able to trace the address together. I have also asked for id to verify if these are the same people. I have a horrible temper and a responsible job with a 3 month old daughter. If push comes to shove, I will respond to violence in kind, which I can see it landing me in trouble with the police and my employer. N doubt, it will be exaggerated as a homophobic crime, as my agent has said they are currently being harassed at their current residence. With no insurance, it will take me 3 months to evict and I suspect costs/losses of around £3k. Does the above sound suspicious to you? There is a chance it is not them, but c'mon.....
